Midge Pippel

My art reflects my love of the coastal environment of Anna Maria Island, Florida where I live. Landscapes, flowers, animals, and abstracts are influenced by the colors of my tropical surroundings. Nature inspires me with its amazing color palette, such as the turquoise blue water of the Gulf of Mexico; white sand beaches; magenta flowers; and yellow-orange-sunsets. My nontraditional use of paint colors on traditional subjects create fun and funky works of art, such as a sea turtle painted shades of turquoise and blue. This explains why people often describe my style as cheerful, bright, colorful and sometimes funky.
